In celebration of Pride month, we have dressed our iconic linen towel in rainbow colours. In partnership with Casa 1 100% of the proceeds will help support unhoused LGBTQIA+ youth in Brazil.
Diversity and freedom of expression are ever-present in our founding city of Rio De Janeiro. From the beach to the bustling streets, there is room for every colour of love under the shade of the Corcovado; Copacabana, Ipanema and Lapa all have dedicated postos and bars with rainbow flags signaling that inclusivity is not only welcome, but fully encouraged.
It is no wonder, then, that Brazil has become one of the top destinations for LGBTQIAP+ tourists and locals alike. Being amongst the very first countries to legalize gay marriage in 2013, Brazil has a long history of always striving for acceptance. In 2023, the country set records for having the world's largest Pride parade, and is world-renowned for Carnaval, which always includes floats and parties that celebrate the LGBTQIAP+ expression and identities.
In celebration of a community that has brought so much culture and joy to our heritage city of Rio, we proudly introduce this Brazilian beach staple in new colours to celebrate our orgulho and to give back. Big enough for two, our towels were made for every colour of amor. Crafted using Frescobol Carioca’s favourite fabrication - 100% linen - they are lightweight, quick-dry and chic.
Despite the changes and improvements to protecting LGBTQIAP+ rights, the community still faces prejudice on a daily basis. This year, we’re extremely proud to be partnering with Casa 1, who have been active participants in the fight against discrimination. Casa 1 is an organization which focuses its work on three fronts: the shelter for LGBTQIAP+ people expelled from home due to their sexual orientations and gender identities; Galpão Casa 1, a cultural centre that offers cultural and educational activities and the Casa 1 Social Clinic, which provides psychotherapeutic care, occasional medical care and complementary therapies. In total, approximately 3,500 people are assisted every month through various projects.
100% of all proceeds from Pride towel sales have been donated to Casa1.
